Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning the craniosacral system, and a physiological system consisting of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The work is done by using a soft and gentle touch to release restrictions in the craniosacral system.
Craniosacral Therapy has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, digestive system, musculoskeletal, respiratory system, and circulatory system. It has also been shown to help with Post Traumatic Stress, depression, anxiety, stress, Fibromyalgia, Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ), migraines, and chronic neck and back pain to name a few.
Over the last two years, Melissa has been studying Craniosacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute and she finds that it is a wonderful complement to Rolfing / Structural Integration or as a stand-alone session.
